Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by Adpathway“Saturday Night Live” ruthlessly mocked President Donald Trump’s repeated promise to give every American a $5,000 check if Republicans prevail in the midterm elections.
Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) in the show’s cold open closed out a series of campaign spots at the Republican Party’s national headquarters, where the president made his final case to voters ahead of the midterms in the sketch.
“We’re getting boned out there, but not for long because I have a solution. If the Republicans win, I’ll give everyone $5,000, and that is not a bribe because I have no intention of following through on that promise,” Trump said in the sketch.
Trump in the sketch then continued to implore his supporters to “pretend I’m on the ballot.”
“You have to use something that’s called imagination. Imagination makes a MAGA nation,” Trump said in the sketch, “I can already see that written on the back of an obese woman’s booty shorts in dirty, disgusting Myrtle Beach.”
The sketch took some jabs at Trump’s repeated rhetoric surrounding Texas U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton, with the president saying “god damn, do I hate that guy,” in the sketch.
Trump then recorded identical victory/defeat messages for the outcome of the midterms, in a dig at his repeated election denialism.
“We won. Nobody has ever won so much before,” Trump said in the sketch.
