What Are We All Going To Do About It?

Tonight, on July 16th 2026, Donald Trump officially declared war on the American democracy which has worked fine enough for almost 250 years. Virginia Senator, Mark Warner just said there is nothing Donald Trump won’t do to stay in power, and he is correct on that. What Warner is saying is that if it comes to jailing and killing Americans who get in Trump’s way, Donald is okay with that.

Historically, this is how it always goes when someone tried to change the system of government in a country . There is a reason that it has to come down to warfare with sociopathic would-be kings. They are intellectually lazy. It’s real hard work to be a great president for the people. And tyrants are bullies by nature. Trump essentially just said : I own the country. He does not, unless we let him do it.

So, if you think we won’t be seeing the jailing and killing adversaries in America, like Putin did to Navalny, eventually killing him, think again. Trump and his policies of tariffs and ICE is opposed by about 70% of Americans. When a tyrant doesn’t have the the support of the majority of voting people, but does have control over the actions of the forces of the US military, ICE, media and a goon squad of pardoned criminals, all willing to do his bidding, force becomes the obvious route for all attempts to overthrown an entrenched government, which is exactly what Donald Trump has been since January 6th, 2021.

The Biden administration ignored the 14th Section 3 of our Constitution, but we don’t have to any longer. States and their governors have sovereign powers that preceded the powers of the federal government, and they must be rolled out over the next few weeks or we will be shot in the streets very soon.

Trump’s old addled brain has concluded there is no other way not to escape justice for all his traitorous crimes. He even said ” they’re going to impeach me” because he knows he deserves that and worse. He will never surrender his power to another group of humans. And I am sure Putin let him know this is how it must be if you want to be like me. Donald Trump has openly said he wants to be president for life.

We have a democracy, if we can keep it. Our founders created the idea of a democratic nation. Our grandfathers fought and died so their progeny could live in a democracy. We are their progeny. We are under attack, and I am not sure this is not from a Manchurian Candidate, because it sure has felt that way since June of 2016 and “Russia, if you’re listening”. They were listening. Putin helped Trump get elected. That means he is compromised big time.

Plenty of people are standing up vs Trumpism. But the Trump administration has shown they are happy to kill to get what they want, and will sleep well at night if it comes to blood. You did not hear Trump feel bad about killing hundreds of Iranian school girls, did you? No one did. How about ICE for killing Rene Goode? No prosecutions for that at all. It will soon be the same for his enemies here; just like Putin and Navalny andmany others he has killed.

Trump basically said he’s not going to accept the results of the midterms in so many words, because he and his party are going to lose big time, and they all know it. He is making Republican congressmen become criminals so they have to back him for “protection”. Mike Johnson alluded to that last week.

A Union of State Governors With an Article 5 Creed

It occurs to me that if Trump’s Administration wants to stay in power regardless of the election results, they have the muscle to do that. But, Blue States governors have muscle too and can also uphold the rightlful results of the elections in their own states. If the Governors of blue states formed an alliance, and backed that alliance with military muscle, their police and national guardsmen, they can declare that they will only abide by the actual election results. Tit for tat.

This union of allied governors with a NATO-like Article 5 creed, you come for one, you come for all, best be annouced as soon as possible. States United is the soverign power capable of undoing Trumpism.

The momentum of a criminal coup always come to resistance. Are we willing to fight to save our democracy? Trump is betting we won’t be willing to risk our lives or that if we do, he will mow us down. But his teacher is Vladimir Putin, and Russia is not the USA. He missed that history at Penn. Trump was and is ignorant of American history and world history as well.

Sadly, if we are not prepared to die to defend our democracy, we can easily lose it. Trump’s being told this is how it has to go, and that people usually just want to stay alive and have a good time. That’s been that way here since WW2 ended. We’ve had a great run onthe backs of the soldiers that dies in WW2. But this attitude won’t work from now until midterms. We are under attack.

There is one thing I wish this theoretical alliance of governors would do after formally announcing its creation. Why can’t they announce that their ports will no longer collect, nor allow the collection of tarriffs created by Trump, without the approval of Congress? That would leave the citizens in Trump states stuck paying tariffs, while people in blue states enjoy a better economy, lower prices, and a better standard of living. Blue state economies will thrive, while people in red states will have more reasons to vote out all their GOP representatives in Congress who have remained loyal to Trump.

Its a way to get more Trump supporters enrolled in what the insurectionists who came to the J6 event were supposed to be doing – saving our democracy. And red state citizens largely don’t like Trump any more anyway. Red state citizens original tea-party gripe was the government takes and does not give back enough. This would prove we are on their side. I think the announcement of the reversal of Trump’s tariffs in blue state ports until they are approved by Congress would be very popular with all Americans – all political sides.

What citizens can and must do today
