Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayPresident Donald Trump said he easily could have targeted to his political rivals if he wanted to when asked about the possibility of Democrats moving to impeach him if they end up retaking Congress in November.
Flipping the question around during an Oval Office event on Wednesday, he said, “I could have done very bad things to Hillary Clinton. I could have done very, very bad things to Joe Biden. I could have done very bad things to Barack Hussein Obama.”
“I thought it was inappropriate to do so because you have to treat the office of the presidency with respect,” Trump went on, then ominously adding, “I can do whatever I want if I want.”
“They’ve done some very bad things,” he continued, claiming he never sought to punish Clinton, Biden or Obama because he viewed the presidency “as a very sacred position.”

— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) October 7, 2026The president, who was impeached twice during his first term in office, has told Republicans that Democrats will certainly try to remove him from office if they win the midterms, while Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said an impeachment is all but “guaranteed” if the GOP loses their majority in Congress.
While Trump did not weaponize the government against Clinton, Biden or Obama, he and his Justice Department have set their sights on an array of other perceived political enemies.
Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted in April over an Instagram post alleged to be threatening the president’s life. The trial is scheduled to begin next January.
There have also been indictments in investigations into former special counsel Jack Smith, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, former Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, and several of Trump’s opponents in Congress.
