Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe newest Nobel Peace Prize winner reacted to the honor on Friday with a joke at Donald Trump’s expense.
Navi Pillay, a South African-born jurist and former U.N. human rights chief, was awarded for her efforts to promote peace and international law.
Considering Pillay led a U.N. commission that found Israel committed genocide in Gaza, it’s a likely bet her win didn’t exactly thrill the president, who, along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, rejected the findings.
Of course, it doesn’t help that Trump has been obsessed with winning the Peace Prize for a long time, possibly since 2009, when former President Barack Obama received it.
In 2025, Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Weeks later, she attempted to ease Trump’s fragile ego by symbolically giving him her award and reportedly got a red bag in exchange.
Pillay referenced Machado in her first comments to the press after her win was announced.
“If you clap a little bit more, I may share this prize with Trump,” Pillay joked to reporters.
Amazing moment.

We are at the Nuremberg Court; I cannot think of a stronger symbol for her Nobel prize.
We are all so thrilled!

HuffPost reached out to the White House for comment, but no one immediately responded.
However, her joke at Trump’s expense was well received on social media.
“If you clap a little bit more, I may share this prize with Trump.”😂😂
Never knew Nobel Prize winners had this level of brutal sarcasm hidden in them!😂😂 https://t.co/oOrcIy6yx3
