I am a research scientist at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. 

My interests span from coastal conservation, restoration, and management, to community ecology, to biostatistics. I work with scientists, managers, policymakers, and volunteers worldwide to help build understanding and promote data-driven decision-making towards a healthier and more sustainable planet. I investigate questions across a variety of ecosystems, but have a deep and enduring affinity for seagrasses. I also develop and promote advanced statistical methods to make the best use of the rich and expansive datasets that are available.
