Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayFormer Fox News host Bill O’Reilly warned of consequences if his longtime friend President Donald Trump does not “speed up the process” of ending the Iran war, a conflict he says is “killing the Republican Party” in polling.
“Republicans will lose the midterms because most people are not thinking beyond their wallet,” O’Reilly told host Chris Cuomo on NewsNation. “And your legacy will be like Bush the younger. OK, Bush the younger did a fairly good job, but the Iraq War killed his legacy, and the Iranian situation could kill Trump’s legacy, and he cares about that very much.”
Trump and his Republican Party are facing unfavorable poll numbers ahead of the midterm elections due to the president’s war in Iran and his handling of the economy.
Political commentators are predicting dismal results for GOP candidates in November. While the president continues to promote his war, American voters are souring on the long conflict and feeling its economic consequences. Last month, Brown University’s Climate Solutions Lab estimated that the war cost U.S. consumers at least $100 billion in higher fuel prices since Feb. 28.
O’Reilly told Cuomo on Tuesday that he’d spoken to Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the war in Iran and how it’s not “going particularly well, and all the polls show that.”
“But it’s not a matter of him doing anything wrong,” he argued. “It’s a matter of how are you going to wrap it up, because this is killing the Republican Party in the polling, and you may lose Congress because Americans are tired of it, and their gas is up, their food is up.”
