Then your sensitivity becomes what it was always designed to be when you were first born: intact, flowing, and available, rather than compacted and burdened. Overwhelm, in the end, is a wonderful signal that something needs to change. The empowered sensitive is not in pain about how fast they get there. They are simply determined that they will.
