Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) said President Donald Trump is “not well” and urged members of his administration to trigger a constitutional process that could result in his removal from office.

Goldman on Sunday shared a link to a summary of a Wall Street Journal report that claimed Trump’s advisers kept him out of a command room as the U.S. military attempted to rescue two airmen who were downed in Iran.

“Trump screamed at aides for hours,” the newspaper reported, adding that aides feared “his impatience wouldn’t be helpful” in the delicate operation.

“The commander-in-chief was excluded from commanding a military operation because he was acting so crazy,” Goldman wrote on X. “Think about that.”

He added:

The 25th Amendment to the Constitution describes a process by which the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet can declare a president unable to perform his duties, putting the vice president in charge as “acting president.” If the president contests that declaration, Congress would ultimately decide the issue, with a two-thirds vote of the House and Senate required to keep the president out of office.

Goldman is not alone.

Earlier this month, after Trump threatened to destroy Iran so thoroughly that they would be “living in hell,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) also raised the issue.

“If I were in Trump’s Cabinet, I would spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment,” he wrote on X. “This is completely, utterly unhinged. He’s already killed thousands. He’s going to kill thousands more.”
