Trump Flips Out At 'Total Jerk' Stephen Colbert In 2 A.M. Rant After Final 'Late Show'

President Donald Trump ― currently juggling a war with Iran, surging prices, and plunging approval ratings ― took time early Friday to gloat over “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert losing his job.

“Colbert is finally finished at CBS,” Trump wrote on Truth Social at 1:52 a.m., about an hour after the “Late Show” finale concluded. “Amazing that he lasted so long! No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person.”

Despite Trump’s claim, Colbert has consistently had the highest ratings in late-night TV for nearly a decade.

“You could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk,” Trump wrote. “Thank goodness he’s finally gone!”

Ironically, Colbert never mentioned Trump by name during his final episode ― and had just one subtle joke about the president, cracked during his interview with rock legend Paul McCartney.

But he often made Trump the butt of his monologue jokes throughout his hosting tenure ― and the president wasn’t pleased, frequently attacking him and other late-night hosts on social media and calling for them to be fired.

He got what he wanted in July of last year, when CBS announced it would cancel “The Late Show.”

The network claimed it was “purely a financial decision,” but it came as corporate parent Paramount was seeking Federal Communications Commission approval to complete a massive merger.

That merger was approved just one week after it announced the end of “The Late Show.”
