Genetically modified “Purple Tomato” tomatoes have been approved for growing and eating in Canada. The GM tomato seeds could be sold in Canada as soon as December 2025 by the small U.S. company Norfolk Healthy Produce. The GM tomatoes could be sold in Canada starting in 2026, distributed by the company Red Sun Farms.
