President Trump has made significant strides in border security since returning to the White House in January 2025, with illegal crossings plummeting over 99 percent. This dramatic decline starkly contrasts with the previous four years under the Biden administration, which saw more than 15 million illegal immigrants entering the United States. Among them were numerous dangerous criminals, raising serious concerns about safety.

Law enforcement agencies, particularly the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), have been vigilant in their efforts to identify and apprehend illegal aliens within their borders. Recent operations highlight this commitment, demonstrating how law enforcement works tirelessly alongside Border Patrol to combat illegal immigration.

A notable incident occurred in Maverick County when Texas DPS discovered a stash house concealing four illegal aliens. Acting on intelligence that suspicious activity was happening in a hotel room, troopers engaged with a woman inside who permitted a search. The room’s pungent odor of marijuana led to the discovery of four individuals hiding beneath blankets. Among them were Joseph Angel Gusman and Daniel Castillo Dionisio, both 21 and identified as gang members who had previously crossed the border illegally multiple times. Dionisio, particularly concerning, was wanted in New Orleans on felony warrants for aggravated assault with a firearm and armed robbery. After his arrest, he was booked into the jail in Maverick County.

The other three illegal aliens were turned over to Border Patrol. Meanwhile, two American citizens, Juella Monet Brown and Starr Ricki Drake, were charged with operating the stash house and taken into custody. This case reflects the complex dynamics of illegal immigration and the involvement of both foreign nationals and American citizens in these criminal activities.

Further illustrating the ongoing challenges, a recent report highlighted the capture of a human smuggler in Del Rio. After fleeing from troopers in a hotel parking lot, he was apprehended, and four illegal aliens were found in his vehicle. These incidents underline the persistent threat that illegal immigration poses to communities and the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to maintain order.

The operations undertaken by Texas DPS signify a robust return to law and order under President Trump’s administration. By tackling the issue head-on, these agencies aim to safeguard American lives from the dangers posed by illegal immigration and the crime that often accompanies it. This focus on strict enforcement continues to draw attention to the pressing need for effective immigration control measures.
