Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDonald Trump’s latest self-description may have been delivered with a lighthearted tone, but it still drew scorn for two reasons.
While hyping the United States as the “hottest country in the world” right now at the U.S.–Saudi Investment Forum this week, the president suddenly claimed to be … modest.
Trump said:
“This has been, according to those that seem to say it ― and I would never say a thing like that because I want to be very modest, I always want to be modest, as modest as I can ― they say this has been the best nine months that any president has ever had. I’d say that’s pretty good, right? But we’ve had a great nine months. Now we have to do it more than a few more times. We have to keep it going. We’ll keep it going.”

The “modest” claim drew what appeared to be knowing laughter from the audience.
On social media, though, critics explained why, even as a joke, it was definitely not a fitting word for the president.
They also argued why it hasn’t actually been the best nine months for a president ever, amid an affordability crisis, persistent inflation and more.
Modesty and Trump should never be uttered in the same sentence. Like fingernails on a chalkboard.

— Brian Spencer (@BrianJSpencer) November 20, 2025Oh, I think we can all agree that his best quality is his modesty, right? Right?
— Trish Is Pissed (@TrishIsPissed) November 19, 2025Who actually tells him this? Do the people he’s talking to actually believe it when they can see for themselves it’s NOT the best 9 months of any president! https://t.co/sDPvjmif2h
— Christine Caston (@CastonChris) November 19, 2025Who is “they”? Trump is underwater in every major category; economy, healthcare, immigration, education… you name it, he is destroying America https://t.co/IfRHIVWF4f
— Teresa Kinney (@tere62979) November 20, 2025Well, it is not. He is the one saying that about himself, not «them».
— Gandalv (@Microinteracti1) November 19, 2025Does he just randomly add “that any President has ever had” to any/every speech he makes??
— Ian Dempsey 🇮🇪 (@unifilvet) November 20, 2025If I told you once, I told you a million times don’t exaggerate!
— Richard Truax (@richard_tr89844) November 19, 2025"I always want to be modest" says the guy who turned the oval office into a cartoon version of a brothel waiting room. says the guy with a gold toilet.
— El Roberto (@ElRober83863430) November 19, 2025I heard they're now going to name it the Gulf of Modesty.
— Ferriswheelboy (@Patrick33499954) November 19, 2025He didn't mention anything about being truthful.
