The Princess of Swords and Death
This week, we have a New Moon in Virgo on September 10, and we are moving toward the Equinox later this month. We are using this time to align ourselves, clear out the old, and set ourselves up for success before the new season begins.
Our first card this week is the Princess of Swords, who wields her sword to cut through the dense fog obscuring her view. She has no time for misinformation and speaks honestly about what needs to change. Her vibrations may feel blunt, but she believes in radical truth.
If someone treats you unkindly, including yourself, it’s your opportunity to address the situation. The Princess of Swords can be quite intense, so it’s important to remain calm and respectful. This approach will lead to a positive outcome for everyone involved.
Reflect on how to free yourself from negativity and discover a deeper truth within. Embrace boldness and courage in every step you take. A great way to begin is by getting active.
Go for a brisk walk or do any kind of exercise to shake off the cobwebs and get your blood flowing. Another effective strategy is to drink water. It may sound simple, but staying hydrated can help clear mental blockages and ease feelings of being stuck.
Once we are centered and calm, we can think more clearly. From that space, we can connect with our core self and allow the universe to guide us through our next card.
Our next card this week is Death, but we should not be afraid. Death represents not an ending but a beginning; it serves as a perfect guide for a new moon and transitioning into a new season.
Death is about letting go of the baggage we carry that makes our journey more difficult. With this card, we let go of the past and begin anew with a lighter load. For some, this change can feel disruptive, while for others, it can be refreshing.
Many of us are afraid of change and anything new. We are fearful because we crave permanence and consistency. We want to hold on to whatever we have, even if it’s time to let it go.
But in Tarot, Death is full of beauty and is a deeply powerful card. When it shows up, we are ready to say goodbye to the things that cause us pain. We are prepared to have a profound metamorphosis.
We ask ourselves: What needs to be transformed? What must we let go of to thrive? What must die so we can live more fully?
By connecting with our inner voice, we will hear what needs to be released. Whether it is a toxic person, a stagnant job, or a habit we’ve outgrown, we are ready to let go.
When you connect with what needs to be transformed, honor it with a releasing ceremony or ritual. Write what you want to let go of on a piece of paper, then give the paper its own transformation.
This could include ripping it up and letting it burn, burying it in the earth, or simply saying the words on the page out loud. Whatever you choose, this ceremony will help honor the process of death.
Our cards encourage truth and help us let go of what no longer serves us. We are invited to embrace our powerful spirit and release behaviors that do not align with our hearts.
Mantra for the week: I ground myself in truth and release what holds me back from my fullest growth.
