Ten of Cups and Two of Rods
Our first card this week is the Ten of Cups, which signifies contentment and satisfaction. Our desire for more has been fulfilled, and we feel perfectly satisfied.
Satiety is a stronger, more stable feeling than happiness. The Ten of Cups is associated with groundedness that comes from hard work and a commitment to our values.
This contentment is attainable when we nurture our spiritual core, the resilient part of us that remains unwavering. Satisfaction emerges when we align our actions with who we truly are.
The urge to want ‘more’ is constantly tempting us. The next goal, the next thing to buy, the next place to go, or the next thing we need. We are constantly bombarded with messages about what we should desire next, told this will be the key to a smarter, healthier, more productive, and more beautiful life.
The energy of the Ten of Cups encourages us to recognize temptations and reflect before we act. We resist acting on impulse. We avoid buying things we don’t need, aren’t driven by fear of missing out, and don’t set a new goal immediately after achieving one.
We feel like we can move through the world with a deeper sense of contentment. Things come toward us, and we can say yes or no with ease. We are satisfied with the present moment and who we are right now.
You can work toward this feeling each day by tapping into what is good and lovely in the moment. Through awareness and mindfulness, we realize how much we already have. We don’t feel the tug for more; we are perfectly satisfied.
How can you embody the energy of the Ten of Cups this week? How can you connect with your spiritual center? How can you embrace the feeling of satisfaction?
Our next card is the Two of Rods (also known as Wands). With a strong foundation, we can start building our authentic, passion-filled path.
The Two of Wands asks: Where do you feel most energized? When are you confident and in charge? What are your happy places?
The Two of Wands invites you to reflect on these questions. It wants you to tap into what fills you up and makes you feel purposeful and passionate. Direct your energy where you feel the fire.
The Two of Wands asks you to use the places in your life where you feel strongest and most confident to reveal your true purpose. You can also use these places to build strength and confidence in other areas.
The idea is: if you know you can be courageous in some areas of your life, why can’t you harness that courage in other areas? You are funny, creative, and fearless at times, but you need to bring that energy to the spaces where you feel less confident.
Maybe you need to be brave with something you have been putting off. Maybe you need to be vulnerable with those you love. Or maybe you need to share your talents with a larger audience and connect to your greater purpose.
Wherever you need more power and direction, call on the fiery energy already inside you. Use that fire inside to navigate your path forward.
Mantra for the week: I follow what fuels my passion, builds my confidence, and brings me contentment.
