U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers conducting targeted enforcement operations in Salem, Oregon, were surrounded and attacked by far-left rioters on Saturday, according to footage obtained by on-the-ground reporter Katie Daviscourt of The Post Millenial.

The incident began around 9:30 a.m. and lasted roughly 30 minutes in a parking lot. Video of the events was captured via Facebook livestream by Jose A. Garibay Esquivel, identified as a “rapid responder” who had been following the officers, and was shared by Daviscourt on X.

Anti-ICE “response” groups mobilized to the scene after news of the raid spread, according to The Post Millennial. Participants, some wearing facial coverings and riot gear, used their bodies and personal vehicles to surround multiple federal vehicles and interfere with the operation. Agitators also boxed in the ICE vehicles with their own cars.

As officers attempted to move, the group continued to follow and enclose them. At least one individual holding a metal bat threatened officers and then struck a vehicle with the bat as agents sought to exit the area.

Daviscourt reported that individuals associated with Antifa, which the Trump Administration designated a domestic terrorist organization in a September 2025 executive order, appeared to be present.

The Saturday events followed a separate confrontation the previous afternoon at 3935 Silverton Road NE. In that incident, an agitator jumped onto the hood of an ICE vehicle, blocking the windshield. When an officer exited to remove him, the individual placed an arm around the officer’s neck, dug his nails into the officer’s shoulder, and threw a punch that the officer avoided.

That individual was not taken into custody at the time, and other demonstrators also surrounded federal vehicles. Local and state law enforcement provided no assistance, consistent with Oregon sanctuary policies.

These incidents in Oregon align with the formation and activity of “ICE Watch” networks by left-wing groups in cities across the country. Such groups organize through Signal chats and other platforms to track agent movements, film operations, trail vehicles, and in some cases impede enforcement through blockades, vehicle positioning, and direct confrontations.

Assaults on ICE personnel have risen sharply during periods of heightened enforcement, according to Department of Homeland Security figures.
