Tami Simon asks Paul Selig a question on behalf of everyone listening. How does a person begin to trust, to open their heart, to let go of their defendedness against divine union? Paul does not answer it himself. Let me go to them, he says, and what follows is the guides. Their answer begins with an image. The divine is present in the fire, and also in the ash, in the structure that was the fire and is now what remains of it. Once you grasp that the source of all things must be present in, of and with all things, they say, you can release the need to decide and decree what is of source and what could not possibly be. Then the image that carries the whole teaching. You perceive the clouds and forget the sun behind them. When you remember what is there, the clouds disperse. And when you understand that the clouds themselves are also an expression of source, your relationship to the very idea of cloud changes. They are direct about why this matters now. The temptation in a time like this one is to refute divine action altogether, to deny any presence amid the chaos. To do that is to miss what is happening. The source of the chaos, they say, is the sheer magnitude of the change humanity is undergoing, because the time has come to re-know ourselves beyond separation. The claims of separation on display everywhere are not evidence that nothing is happening. They are evidence of the change itself.
