A 19-year-old Illinois man has been charged with the murder of 30-year-old Eliza Morales and her unborn child after stabbing her 70 times. Prosecutors say the suspect, angry over a transaction on Facebook Marketplace, forced his way into Morales’s apartment, attempted a robbery, stabbed her repeatedly, and set the apartment on fire. The suspect also stabbed the family dog, which escaped. The defendant was denied pretrial release, with officials calling him a public threat.
