Stephen Miller drew major eye-rolls on Wednesday after crediting Donald Trump for his own sense of self-esteem.

During a chuckle-filled exchange on Fox News, host Jesse Watters asked the White House deputy chief of staff for policy how his ego was holding up amid reports that his podcaster wife, Katie Miller, could land a deal for her show with Paramount.

“Don’t worry, I have a very, very secure, intact ego,” Miller replied.

“Owing to the fact, Jesse, that thanks to my appearances on your show, I’ve never had a larger fan following. So your show has been great for my ego and self-esteem,” he explained.

Miller, a key architect of Trump’s hard-line immigration agenda, then pivoted to hyping up the president himself.

“And most importantly of all, any man who works for President Trump is a man that is very, very strong and self-assured in his role,” he said.

“There’s nothing better for your self-confidence than being able to work for President Trump, and that is a blessing I have every day,” he added.

Watters replied: “That’s right. If you don’t have it, he will turn you into a puddle of tears.”

Critics on social media had … thoughts.

Very strong and self-assured, eh? Uhm, who is gonna tell him?

Yes, so manly when the grovel in front of him at every cabinet meeting

Strong /self assured people don’t have to always tell everyone they are strong /self assured men. That’s what weak people do to try and convince others they’re strong.

Really? I just think they're all cult level kiss asses.

So says one of the weakest, most insecure men in American history.

— Fritznkappler (@Fritznkappler1) May 21, 2026

Yeah, strong and self-assured men go around saying that all the time.

— LAMartincheck (@lmartincheck) May 21, 2026

Idk this sounds weirdly submissive for people who brand themselves as hyper-independent “alpha males".

— Dana VanEffen (@DanaVanEffen906) May 21, 2026

If this is actually true you wouldn’t need to feel the need to say it out loud. Fucking embarrassing

Any man who works for TACO is weak and a coward.

....said no one ever about Stephen Miller....🙄
