CNN’s Scott Jennings took a ridiculous stab Monday at defending President Donald Trump’s silence after a UFC fighter said former first lady Michelle Obama “is a man.”

Josh Hokit’s remarks to commentator Joe Rogan came on a bloodthirsty Sunday night on the White House lawn, which hosted the bouts to mark Trump’s 80th birthday. The spectacle streamed on Paramount+.

“NewsNight” host Abby Phillip wasn’t having the GOP pundit’s weak sauce.

UFC boss Dana White condemned Hokit’s comments as nasty and false, saying, “I hate that kind of nonsense.”

But Trump, who recently cast the former first lady and President Barack Obama as apes in an AI video he shared, did not weigh in, Phillip noted. Nor did the administration.

“These people in the White House, [communications director] Steven Cheung, the president, nobody has the guts or the decency to say, ‘That’s inappropriate, it shouldn’t have been said, it’s wrong.’ Why?” Phillip said.

Replied Jennings: “I would do that, I would say, ‘We don’t endorse these comments.’”

“But why won’t they?” Phillip responded.

This is where the network’s Republican heel went full apologist for the president.

“My assumption is that they get asked to condemn things all the time, everybody everywhere that says something, they’re constantly being asked to condemn things, and my guess is they just sort of have a policy not to do it,” Jennings said.

Phillip wasn’t buying it.

“Aren’t there some things that they should condemn?” she asked.

After a bit of crosstalk between other panelists, Phillip resumed.

“The idea that they always have to condemn things is not an excuse for not condemning things that should be condemned,” she said.

Hokit continued to stir the pot, calling himself “courageous” in a social media post.
