A never-before-seen astronomical object has been discovered in the very early universe – and scientists believe it’s a mashup of a black hole and a huge star.

Researchers were using the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to hunt for the earliest galaxies when they spotted an impossibly bright and incredibly red object.

It looked like a vast star, stretching out to cover an area as large as our entire solar system.

However, scientists were shocked to see that this bizarre dot was somehow pumping out 100 billion times more energy than any star can physically produce.
