President Donald Trump honored the Artemis II crew with the Congressional Space Medal of Honor during a ceremony at the White House, recognizing their historic mission around the Moon and back. Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen traveled more than 252,000 miles from Earth during their nine-day mission. President Trump and NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman highlighted the administration’s ambitious plans for America’s future in space, including upcoming Artemis missions, a sustained presence on the Moon and eventual missions to Mars. Isaacman said the next phase will include Artemis III, followed by Artemis IV and the planned return of American astronauts to the lunar surface in 2028.
