A newly released Pentagon document details an extraordinary UFO encounter reported by federal law enforcement agents, who witnessed a see-through object hanging in the night sky.
The declassified report was part of the Trump administration’s third release on Friday, detailing observations of UFOs over two days in October 2023 in the western US.
According to the witness, the mysterious object floated roughly 15 to 20 feet above the ground and was so translucent that a star, the crest of a nearby hill and surrounding vegetation could be seen through it.
The agent compared the effect to looking through water, saying the object’s shape and borders appeared distorted as it drifted silently through the air.
The transparent anomaly was the final sighting in a string of strange encounters that included glowing orange spheres, flashing lights and a vehicle-like object that appeared to hover above the terrain without kicking up dust.
Multiple federal law enforcement agents reported witnessing the phenomenon during the two-day period, according to the report.
‘It started the first night with other teams reporting weird lights moving along groups miles away,’ Witness 1 said in a statement.
The account was later provided to the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which investigates reports of unexplained objects.
What began as reports of strange lights moving in groups miles away soon escalated into a sequence of encounters that the witness said defied easy explanation.
The first major sighting occurred as the agent and another team member drove through a valley area at dusk.
The pair of federal agents suddenly spotted what appeared to be a large glowing sphere positioned near a hillside.
‘It was just a circle of light that looked like a swirly pattern of bright lava,’ Witness 1 stated.
According to the report, the sphere appeared sharply defined and emitted a bright glow despite the fading evening light.
The witness estimated the object may have been 20 feet or more in diameter and initially believed it was between 1,640 and 1,968 feet away, although later measurements suggested the hillside itself was roughly 3,600 feet distant.
