MS NOW host Catherine Rampell on Sunday punched President Donald Trump where it often hurts: crowd size. (Watch the video below.)

On her show “The Weekend Primetime,” she compared the reportedly low attendance at the Conservative Political Action Conference to the robust turnout for the latest round of anti-Trump “No Kings” rallies.

Using dual images of those weekend events, Rampell said:

If we know anything about Donald Trump, it is his obsession with a handful of fairly specific things: gold plating, the Village People and of course, crowd sizes. So you can only imagine how he must feel seeing this split screen.

On the left side, you have the absolutely massive “No Kings” day protests, which took over small towns, big cities all over the place, all around the world. Organizers say at least 8 million people showed up. And then on the right side of your screen, you have CPAC. Womp, womp. Notice a difference?

“Which crowd do you think Trump wishes he were a part of?” she continued. “Maybe that’s why this year Trump decided to skip CPAC for the very first time in a decade. Because even he can’t deny that, right now, the momentum is firmly in the anti-Trump camp.”

Then Rampell cut to comments from Trump detractors at “No Kings.”

Trump’s absence at CPAC may have been one of the reasons its turnout flagged. At one point, the crowd cheered for Trump’s impeachment, although it was likely a misunderstanding.

Amid his war against Iran, inflation and ICE raids, Trump’s approval ratings have sunk.
