A key media ally of President Donald Trump is starting to circle the wagons in the wake of the Justice Department’s establishment of his $1.8 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund,” stemming from his lawsuit against the IRS.

One America News, a pro-Trump network that promoted false claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen, is reportedly weighing claiming a piece of the taxpayer-funded slush fund, according to a report from CNN.

A lawyer from OAN told the outlet that the company is “seriously considering pursuing rights under this fund and will make a decision shortly about whether to file a claim.” Most major cable providers dropped OAN after it settled multiple defamation lawsuits related to the 2020 election conspiracies.

CNN reportedly reached out to Fox News to inquire if they’d seek a claim under the fund, given that the network also settled a defamation lawsuit, similar to OAN, brought by Dominion Voting Systems for $787 million. Fox News has not responded as of yet, according to the report.

The report also indicated that the nearly 1,600 Jan. 6 insurrectionists and 2020 election deniers would be eligible to file claims under the fund.

The fund, which was announced earlier this week by acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, was met with opposition from both parties as well as a swift legal challenge, brought by two police officers injured during the attack on the Capitol.

Former U.S. Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn and former Metropolitan Police Officer Daniel Hodges say in their suit that the fund will directly finance far-right extremists. They argue that this violates the 14th Amendment’s clause prohibiting the U.S. government from paying any debt or obligation “incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States.”
