Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan

One of the wackiest Democratic candidates in all of America is inviting widespread ridicule after going online to reveal her Native American name as Day approaches.

As TGP readers know, Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan is running to represent the state in the U.S. Senate and would make history as the first Native American woman ever elected to the chamber (Sorry, Elizabeth Warren doesn’t count).

But Flanagan has gone viral and invited national ridicule ever since she emerged on the national scene. This includes appearing in a video wearing a hijab while addressing members of the Somali community, gushing about how they’re woven into the “fabric” of the state.

She also boasted about the destruction of a Christopher Columbus statue by a violent leftist mob.

On Tuesday morning, Flanagan went online to reveal her Ojibwe name and its exact meaning before closing with a shot against Trump.

“My Ojibwe name is Gizhiiwewidamookwe, which means ‘Speaks in a Loud and Clear Voice Woman,'” Flanagan wrote on X.

“I’m going to be Minnesota’s voice in the U.S. Senate — not ’s.”

My Ojibwe name is Gizhiiwewidamookwe, which means ‘Speaks in a Loud and Clear Voice Woman.’

I’m going to be Minnesota’s voice in the U.S. Senate — not Donald Trump’s.

As expected, Americans had a lot of fun with the unusual-looking name and also suggested a different Ojibwe word would better describe her.

@peggyflanagan It should be Giiwanimowin, which means ‘A lie or act of deception.’ You do not deserve the job.

@peggyflanagan Cool, now let’s hear you pronounce it.

@peggyflanagan Here are some Ojibwe words that better describe you @peggyflanagan https://t.co/IulqPB3ckR

@peggyflanagan What is Ojibwe for ‘Woman who stays silent while billions in fraud are stolen straight out of Minnesotans wallets’?

— BigSatch (@BigSatchree) October 13, 2026

@peggyflanagan My Ojibwe name is Gimmeablowienowiwontasktwice

— Pub (@PubWanghaf) October 13, 2026

@peggyflanagan I’d love to have heard President Biden introduce you. 🥰

@peggyflanagan Donald Trump isn’t in the senate, he’s the president. Presidents are NOT members of the Senate. Are you sure your Ojibwe name isn’t “Learns Last Woman?”

— Jill Crosby (@CrosbyJill70729) October 13, 2026

My Ojibwe name is “Gaawiin obizindawaasiin giiwanaadizi-ikwe,” or “pays no attention to crazy woman.
Peggy is 100% a creature of government. Government paid to feed and house her when she was a child, paid for education through college, and she has only had government/political jobs for all of her life.
