'Leftists fear Black rejection of their version of integration because our absence weakens the supply of influencers, foot soldiers and *read the fine print* martyrs used to advance their ideology.
Some never embraced it and many reject it as Dems demote our community for migrants.
Leftists dangled the 'carrot' of their version of integration centrally managed through an empire of executive orders, legislation and private programs now methodically dismantled by the Trump administration.
Their power to reward and 'rev up' Black voters with this incentive package is severely diminished entering the 2026 congressional midterm election cycle.
Black Democratic elected officials, pundits and influencers note with great alarm relentless rollbacks and what host Roland Martin terms 'Black erasure' at the federal level.
The private sector, never one to stay on the hook to anyone but shareholders and, grudgingly, government regulators, has followed suit. CEOs and boards are jettisoning programs, positions and personnel to better align themselves with this post-leftist integration wave.
Such reversal of fortune leaves Democrats in a quandary: their lure to middle class Black voters and strivers has lost institutional power.
They can't dangle 'good jobs' and 'access' to contracts anymore because they lack political pressure in the White House, Congress and the US Supreme Court to mandate positions and policies.
Adding to their woes is the fact that the current bait, mass migration, isn't being bought by Black people en masse.
Many community members who are registered Democrats don't register with that party's mania to make this a majority migrant country.
They see sixty years of civil rights gains and our historic role openly overwhelmed by mass migration..
Black absence on the front lines of the 'deportation war' shakes the Democratic establishment to its core. Similar 'ghosting' at the polls could spell another epic defeat for the ‘donkeys,' as a demographic treated like pack mules aligns itself more independently.
Candidly, the actuarial table is working against leftists as well. 'Baby Boomer' Black voters who unsteadily walk, crawl or roll in to cast ballots for Democrats are dying out. The evangelical zeal for that side of the aisle is 'headed to glory' with them.
My Generation X has seen how flimsy the promise of leftist integration is. Many peers spent their lives loyally following an ideology that only delivered for certain Black people.
The rest of us got nothing and in this second Trump administration, grassroots community members watch 'Black elite' Democrats cry the blues as reversal of fortune occurs.
While a mass move to 'MAGA' isn't likely, the progressive politburo noted that younger Black men went ‘red'--voted Republican-in record numbers during the last battle at the ballot.
Also noted was absence of voters who stayed home because of disconnection with a Democratic party perceived as having disconnected from them.
Leftists fear rejection of their version of Integration. Many Black Generation Xers spent their youth chasing the 'carrot' of good jobs (patronage) dangled by the Democratic party.
Now, the 'carrot' is gone due to an ideological changing of the guard. Also, numerous Black 'Gen Xers' are simply exhausted.
Leftist integration has lost momentum and barring a breakthrough of biblical proportions, will stall out by the end of this decade.
Observers conclude that's why the left's integration focus is now squarely upon migrants.
They know they have a gutted incentive package or 'carrots' to offer the Black community.
