Democratic strategist James Carville was loving the L-word in his lambasting of President Donald Trump on Wednesday. (Watch the video below.)

But the word wasn’t “love.” It was “LOSER.”

Carville, who helped orchestrate President Bill Clinton’s ascent to the White House in 1992, had plenty to say about what he saw as Trump’s descent.

Following the president’s glaringly bigoted speech in Pennsylvania this week, Carville accused Trump of trying to gaslight Americans about the prices of goods while he “goes off on every cockamamie sideshow he could go off on.”

Trump was supposed to focus on affordability but took a racist detour, disparaging immigrants from “filthy” countries and regurgitating a baseless claim about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), a Somali immigrant who became an American citizen in 2000.

“People are seeing this, and people are voting on this,” Carville said on the “Politics War Room” podcast.

“He’s paying for it, and he’s going to continue to pay for it,” he added. “And we got to stop looking at him as some kind of political Svengali or political Houdini, or anything like that. He’s done. We just got to butter this toast and slice it and eat it. He’s done.”

Listing states where the GOP has suffered setbacks lately, Carville said of Trump: “He’s done. It’s over. You’re a loser, dude. You’re losing everywhere, and you’re going to lose more because you, my friend, are a loser.”

Carville extended his index finger and thumb in the shape of the “L” loser sign for good measure.
