Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayFar-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones made a call to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump from power over threats he made to Iran if the nation doesn’t capitulate to his demands.
“The Democrats and them in the midterms. That’s a side issue now, compared to existential threat. How do we 25th Amendment his ass?” Jones asked his guest Robert Barnes on “The Alex Jones Show” Monday.
A growing number of Democrats suggested invoking the law, which allows for the removal of a sitting president who is unable to discharge the duties of his office and transfers power to the vice president, after Trump threatened to attack Iran if the nation did not open the Strait of Hormuz.
The president’s threats intensified, claiming that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if Iran does not meet his deadline to make a deal at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday.
Jones, who has been loyal to the president over the years, broke from Trump over his war in Iran and warned of potential war crimes if Trump carries out his threats.
“The definition of genocide is destroying an entire civilization/people! Trump literally sounds like an unhinged super villain from a Marvel comic movie,” Jones said on X. “This IS NOT WHAT WE VOTED FOR!!!”
His guest Barnes warned, “The problem is, to get the 25th Amendment, it’s harder than impeachment.” He instead said officials should “tackle Trump and let him pretend he’s president and publicly report that he’s going through a health issue” while Vice President JD Vance takes over.
The guest told Jones, “It literally needs to be something like that. It’s that bad.”
“I’ve known you for a long time,” Jones replied. “You’ve never called for an internal coup before.”
Jones is not the only conservative calling for the government to invoke the 25th Amendment. Candace Owens called the MAGA leader “a genocidal lunatic,” and the once-Trump-friendly former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told followers, “We cannot kill an entire civilization.”
“He’s threatening an extinction-level event for the people of Iran tomorrow,” Barnes told Jones. “Does nobody think there’s gonna be any blowback from that? If he follows through on that, the whole world is screwed.”
While a few conservative personalities are echoing Jones’ call, he spurred backlash from Trump loyalist Laura Loomer, who labeled it “an incredible act of disloyalty.”
“Disgusting. They are spewing the same talking points as the left,” she wrote on X.
