How much damage indeed, and in Seattle’s case they are already in the danger zone and Wilson is just getting started;

Well, Seattle, like New York, has elected a real extremist as mayor. Katie Wilson, a despicable woman who looks as though she could be Abigail Spanberger’s sister, and as though she uses a broom for transportation, has decided to singlehandedly drive Seattle deeper into liberal hell than it already is.

Like Spanberger, Wilson is tough to look at. True, neither is physically attractive, but the major reason for that is the smug, nauseating arrogance that they reek of. Both have stomach-turning smirks that cement their place in the despicable hall of fame.

Like Spanberger, Wilson wasted little time instituting the Democrat destruction of the city, and even the liberal rag, the Washington Post, took notice. The editorial board tore into Wilson for her “arrogance” and the fact that she is so “defiant about the consequences of her antagonism toward successful people who create value for society.”

    “Nine days after winning Seattle’s November mayoral election, Katie Wilson joined Starbucks baristas on a picket line and pledged to boycott the coffee conglomerate until their union got its way. The socialist will need to wait a while longer for her caffeine fix.”

The article noted that Starbucks was closing five additional stores in Seattle, but more telling is that they are investing $100 million and creating 2,000 jobs at a new headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.

It also highlighted Wilson’s appearance at the “Governing Through a Progressive Lens” forum held at Seattle University, where the arrogant Wilson ignorantly “brushed off claims that taxpayers respond poorly to higher taxes.”

“I think the claims that millionaires are going to leave our state are, like, super overblown.“ Then she cackled. “And if — the ones that leave, like, bye.”

The Post’s article went on to address Wilson’s conceit and disdainful attitude. “Her arrogance is increasingly typical of the state’s political elites.” The editorial went on to cite Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson’s (D) new “millionaire’s tax,” which will tack on an additional 9.9 percent rate on all incomes over $1 million.

    “With the tax on the horizon, former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz announced that he and his wife are fleeing Seattle for Miami. Florida has no state income tax.”

Schultz isn’t the only powerful industry bigwig who can see the problem. The article went on to discuss that Microsoft President Brad Smith had previously admitted that he is “probably more worried right now about the business climate in Washington than at any point over the last 30 years.”

Seattle voters should not have been surprised. Wilson is a longtime liberal activist who co-founded the Transit Riders Union and has faced significant criticism for her past support of radical policies.

During her activist career, she championed a “Solidarity Budget” that wanted to slash the Seattle Police Department’s funding by 50 percent.

The Post summarized the piece with an accurate statement about socialism and the difference in how it manifests in free countries.

    “Socialism has failed everywhere, but its flaws are exposed much faster in free countries like the United States, where individuals and businesses can simply leave for more welcoming jurisdictions. The question is how much economic damage gets done before voters start electing politicians who reverse course.”

How much damage indeed, and in Seattle’s case they are already in the danger zone and Wilson is just getting started.
