Epstein Survivor Wonders If Ghislaine Maxwell's Prison Perks Are Due To 'Something She Knows'

An outspoken victim of sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein is raising questions about the case after saying she heard nothing from the Trump administration when she expressed concerns over partner in crime Ghislaine Maxwell’s transfer to a lighter security prison — where she reportedly receives “special treatment.”

Maxwell was moved to a minimum-security prison in Bryan, Texas, over the summer after opening up to the Department of Justice about President Donald Trump’s relationship with Epstein. At that time, Maxwell claimed she “never witnessed” Trump “in any inappropriate setting in any way.”

Sources with knowledge of Maxwell’s life in prison told CNN the former socialite is given special treatment, such as receiving as much toilet paper as she wants, her own cell where she has her meals delivered and private use of a chaplain’s office for meetings outside normal visitation hours.

Annie Farmer, a victim who testified against Maxwell in 2021, told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on her Thursday night show she is “disgusted” to hear Epstein’s accomplice is receiving “special treatment” and believes Americans feel the same.

“The question that comes to mind is: Why? It’s hard to know why this would happen, unless there’s something, you know, it’s someone she knows or something she knows that would be enabling this special treatment,” Farmer said.

Farmer told Collins she initially reached out to the DOJ and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche with concerns about their treatment of Maxwell and her being moved to a lighter security prison, but did not hear back.

“I think that’s very telling. There’s been no communication at all,” Farmer said.

The victim’s remark comes after Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released thousands of documents, including emails, from Epstein’s estate that suggested Trump knew about his sex trafficking.

Blanche defended Maxwell’s transfer Thursday on X, formerly Twitter, claiming “law enforcement didn’t have the materials Epstein’s estate hid for years and only just provided to Congress.”

George, you’ve never been confused for a trial lawyer, and these kinds of posts explain why. When I interviewed Maxwell, law enforcement didn’t have the materials Epstein’s estate hid for years and only just provided to Congress. Stop talking. It’s unbecoming. https://t.co/g8j3oe1pCT

Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) was the final signature needed on a “discharge petition” that will force the House of Representatives to act on a bill requiring the DOJ to make a public, searchable database of its investigatory files on Epstein. (The measure would also need to be approved in the Senate and escape a veto by Trump.)

Farmer urged Republicans who are considering voting against the bill to learn about other victims, adding, “the American people want transparency.”

She said, “This is actually about survivors getting puzzle pieces to understand the question of, why was this person, why were these people allowed to harm so many children and young women for so long, and change the trajectories of so many people’s lives?”
