Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayMichigan congresswoman Debbie Dingell had a brutal takedown of Donald Trump’s idea to change the name of Lake Ontario to “Lake America” ― and, yes, it included a reference to the president’s devoted aide.
Trump made the suggestion Tuesday after Canada announced it was retaliating against increased tariffs from the U.S. with some tariffs of its own.
The proposed name change was deservedly ridiculed on social media, but Dingell had a snarky suggestion of her own.
“Let’s just call it Lake Natalie, so we know you’ll start protecting our Great Lakes,” she posted on X.
Dingell was, of course, referring to Natalie Harp, a White House aide who has penned adoring letters to Trump and repeatedly declined to get a security clearance. Harp reportedly joined the president on a small plane leaving Turkey after journalists and Cabinet members were left to fly aboard Air Force One amid a security threat last month.
Harp has become a political lightning rod ever since Georgia Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff mentioned her in a speech last week.
“[Trump] doesn’t want to do the job,” Ossoff said. “He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”
