Today is day two of the preliminary hearing in the Tyler Robinson murder case. Yesterday's hearing was pretty dry and even boring at times with the prosecution just laying out basic geography of the campus and the surrounding area for part of the day. However, we did get to the discovery of evidence that someone had been on the roof of a nearby building. 

And perhaps the biggest moment in terms of the narratives going on among podcasters was testimony that the autopsy results showed Kirk's death was a homicide caused by a gunshot to the neck.

Today, Utah State Bureau of Investigation Agent David Hull returned to the stand where he testified about Charlie Kirk's movements on the day of the shooting. Those movements were put together working both backwards and forwards from the time of the gunshot. Hull testified that they had a lot of success tracing Robinson's movements before the shooting but less so afterwards.

A video showing some of Robinson's movements was entered into evidence but, as happened yesterday, Robinson's defense team spent a lot of time arguing that the material shouldn't be played in open court. Eventually the judge allowed the video to be played and shown to the cameras. As the video was shown, Hull was asked questions about what we could see in the video:

New security footage from Utah Valley University was played in court, showing a man the police say is Tyler Robinson arriving around 8:30 a.m. on the day of the shooting, Sept. 10. Agent David Hull testified that Robinson went to an amphitheater and interacted with members of Charlie Kirk’s group, Turning Point USA, before leaving. He returned to campus later that morning and bought food from a Chick-fil-A, roughly two hours before the shooting.

Robinson's was driving a Dodge Challenger which could be seen (including the plate number) in video from the garage. He would ultimately make four visits to campus that day. After the first two described above, Robinson could then be seen entering campus again, this time wearing different clothes. He had on long pants and was seen walking with a limp as if his right leg wouldn't bend. He made his way up to the Losee building and was seen on the roof. Then after the shot, he ran for it.

Seconds after the shooting, a man the police say is Tyler Robinson can be seen running along the top of a campus building — called the Losee building — before dropping down onto the grass and heading away from campus on foot, carrying something.

Robinson also returned to campus later that night. At about 12:30 am he was seen driving on campus and a police officer stopped and spoke to him. The officer wrote down the plate number of the Challenger and later, once Robinson became a suspect, was able to go back and look up the plate he'd written down. That plate showed the car belonged to Tyler Robinson and his mother. The person in the car that night was Tyler.

So the morning highlights are as follows:

Robinson made contact with Turning Point USA representatives on campus before the shooting. And hours later, while the entire state was searching for Kirk’s then-unknown killer, Robinson had a brief encounter with an officer near the campus that raised enough suspicion for the officer to note his license plate number.

Again, none of this is shocking if you've been following this case. However, it may come as a shock to some of Candace Owens followers who have been told repeatedly that Tyler Robinson had never set foot on the UVU campus that day or any other.

So we can see Robinson visiting the campus 4 times. Before the shot he is suddenly limping and can't bend his knee when he walks up stairs. Then we see him climb to the top of the Losee building where evidence of someone lying prone overlooking the courtyard was found. Then we see him flee the roof immediately after the shot. And Candace Owens' takeaway is that we're being tricked by the government. And that's all she's got. Nothing else to explain away all of this video.

Tyler Robinson is cooked and so is Candace. As the week goes on she is only going to get more desperate as more of her imaginary stories about this case get shredded by the facts. It's fun to watch.

The hearing is still going on. I'll update before if there's any big news. Otherwise I'll include it in tomorrow's installment.
