Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by Adpathway“Real Time” host Bill Maher touched on the imminent Paramount Skydance-Warner Bros. mega merger in his opening monologue Friday night and made a lighthearted request of his new bosses.
“Finally, big news for us. And when I say us, I mean you people who are here every week with me,” Maher said. “Uh, the merger went through. You know that? Paramount now owns Warner Discovery, which owns HBO, which owns my ass. So I am owned by, who? I don’t know.”
That’s when he addressed those at the top of the soon-to-be-merged media conglomerate, which will be headed by Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison.
“Whoever owns me now, don’t believe what Trump is tweeting about me,” he quipped.
Trump had launched an insulting Truth Social post at Maher just before 8 a.m. Monday.
“Bill Maher’s ratings are so low that it is hard to believe his show can continue,” the president wrote. “In many ways it’s SAD because, in actuality, I like him.”
Maher responded to Trump with an allusion to allegations of gang rape at a Cornell University frat house that have made headlines this week.
“You know what, Mr. President? Your insults don’t bother me; make up whatever shit you want about me,” he said. “Just don’t mention I went to Cornell.”
