Anmol is on the National Investigation Agency (NIA)’s list of India’s “most wanted,” and a reward of Rs 10 lakh had been announced for information leading to his arrest.

Sources said Anmol fled the country on a forged passport, travelled to Nepal, then to Dubai, Kenya and eventually reached the US. He was detained last November, after which deportation proceedings began.

Anmol, who hails from Fazilka in Punjab, was his brother Lawrence Bishnoi’s principal overseas handler and allegedly directed extortion rackets, issued threats and coordinated assignments through encrypted channels. He was spotted at a Punjabi wedding in California in April 2023.

Sources said around 18 cases have been registered against Anmol, including for his alleged role in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022. He is accused of coordinating the plot while operating from abroad and reportedly arranging weapons and logistical support for the assailants.
