After watching the main local fireworks display last night and literally hundreds of others across the waterways, we caught the Star-Spangled "Salute to America" on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. I must admit, I was impressed. The military singers involved were exceptional, and after their service is complete, some may want to consider pursuing singing careers.

I’ve never been a huge fireworks guy. Sure, when your kids are small, it’s fun to take them to watch, but last night’s “Salute to America” display was unbelievable. The way they were choreographed with the music was perfect, and the displays themselves were awe-inspiring. As I watched the display that was obviously inspired by President Trump’s desire to honor America on her 250^th Birthday, I wondered what Biden’s would have looked like. The thought that popped into my mind was a group of illegals standing on an empty street waving sparklers. Then again, that may be giving him too much credit.

The display that President Trump orchestrated obviously took an intricate plan and exceptional timing. On the other end of the spectrum, at least two cities did their absolute worst to plan anything to honor America.

In Columbus, Ohio, city officials decided to educate their citizens that July 1^st was Somali Independence Day. The way they did it justifiably pissed off a lot of people. The parks and recreation department posted on X:

Happy Somali Independence Day!

As we celebrate the unification of the Trust Territory of Somaliland and the State of Somaliland into the Somali Republic in 1960, City Hall will be raising the flag of Somalia.

Huh? During Independence Week in the United States, officials in Columbus, Ohio, are worried about Somalia’s Independence Day. Even planning on raising its flag.

The message caught the eye of Tricia McLaughlin, former Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Public Affairs, who posted a screenshot of it.

She then added in her own post:

“Ohio’s capital city hoisting the flag of a foreign nation. Posted and now deleted by @ColsRecParks.”

Ohio Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno voiced his disdain about the news, posting on X:

“There is only one nation’s flag that should ever be flown on American government buildings or property. This action by Columbus is a total disgrace and takes away from the epic celebration on Saturday of this country’s 250-year celebration.”</ol

That’s right, when officials realized that people were disgusted by their stupidity, they deleted the post along with a CYA explanation.

“While the City recognizes and respects the aspirations of people around the world to live in freedom, this post was inaccurate and has been deleted.”

It never should have been posted. Worrying about the comfort of foreigners over the comfort of American citizens, and trying to sneak in, raising the flag of another country, is disgusting.

Equally nauseating was what Democrats in San Diego did to destroy the theme of the celebration.

In February, Republican San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond proposed a motion to properly honor the occasion with a tribute to the Declaration of Independence and the region's strong connections to America's military and civic heritage.

Honoring the country is essential, and a meaningful way to do so is to uphold the principles on which it was founded. Unfortunately, Democrats hate order and discipline, and their love for chaos resulted in them totally ignoring the principles on which the greatest nation in history was founded.

Instead, they approved an amendment that assigned planning authority to the county's Office of Equity and Racial Justice. The event would focus on tribal nations, immigrant communities, LGBT groups, and what the board referred to as "historically underserved populations."

What came out of it was what the Club for Growth President, David McIntosh, called "the opening ceremony of the Democratic Socialists of America convention."

Internal county documents accessed by Fox News Digital confirm this information, and it is an absolute disgrace.

The official program begins with a “Tribal Intimate blessing welcoming to the land,” followed by a “Welcoming and Land Acknowledgment,” then a “Tribal Invocation,” the Black national anthem, and finally the national anthem.

Following that, nearly two hours of community-focused segments highlight tribal, Latino, Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander, LGBTQ+, and Black and African communities.

No mention of any White contributions, and the Declaration of Independence also didn’t make the final cut.

The bigoted board also mandated that any business donating to the event must first sign a form pledging alignment with the county's DEI principles and support for immigrant communities.

Facing that prejudice, one sponsor refused. That meant their $2,500 donation would not go into the Democrats' coffers for the farce they were planning.

Is not an insignificant number. The county staff confirmed in those emails that the event cannot cover the cost of a full stage, lighting, and sound setup.

Democrats transformed America's 250th birthday celebration into an absurd DEI Joke, and now they don’t have the money to cover the expenses.

El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells posted the internal documents on X, as well as a two-point alternative plan:

1. Acknowledge America and its greatness. 
2. Celebrate with fireworks and the American National Anthem.

Wells told Fox News Digital:

"Independence Day, especially this one, is about celebrating and honoring America. What the county of San Diego has created ignores this in favor of grievance and a sense that our country is not great or worthy of pride. That's just offensive, especially in light of the fact that they're using taxpayer money to do so."

Anti-DEI activist Robby Starbuck criticized the schedule as "vile," claiming that Democrats are "essentially excluding White community members from the Fourth of July."

Fox News Digital reached out to the gutless, intolerant San Diego County and its Department of Parks and Recreation for comment, and not surprisingly, they received no answers.

A recent Gallup poll conducted just days before America's 250th anniversary revealed that only 14 percent of Democrats consider themselves "extremely proud" to be American, which marks a significant 56-point gap from the 70 percent of Republicans who expressed the same sentiment.

Democrats didn’t put together a Fourth of July celebration; they designed a narrow-minded, racist fiasco that demonstrates the loathing that they hold for American values and Western culture.

This was our Great Nation’s Semiquincentennial celebration. San Diego could have had a beautiful gala, but instead, they ruined it with a woke agenda to satisfy those who lack the capacity to understand what it took to reach this milestone.
