Kamala Harris conceded the 2024 presidential election to Republican opponent Donald Trump in a somewhat weird way.

Aides floundered in patching Harris’ telephone call through to Trump, according to a new book, “2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America,” by Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager and Isaac Arnsdorf.

And so they resorted to holding “two phones together on speaker so that the rivals could talk,” according to excerpts that The Daily Beast published Tuesday.

“Phone service isn’t what it used to be,” Trump reportedly joked to Harris after they finally got to talk.

Harris, meanwhile, reportedly “had considered alluding to [Trump’s] failure to concede when things turned out the other way.”

Trump, of course, never officially conceded the 2020 election to now-former President Joe Biden and falsely maintains, to this day, that he was the real winner.

But Harris ultimately just said “the country was too divided, and she hoped he would be a president for all Americans,” per the book.

In Harris’ later concession speech at her alma mater, Howard University, the then-vice president explained the importance of a peaceful transfer of power.

“A fundamental principle of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we accept the results,” she said. “That principle, as much as any other, distinguishes democracy from monarchy or tyranny, and anyone who seeks the public trust must honor it,” Harris said, wearing a dark purple suit and sounding choked up at the top of her remarks.

Harris has resurfaced on several occasions to slam Trump since his return to the Oval Office in January.

Most notably, last month, she condemned his deployment of the National Guard to thwart protests against his administration’s immigration raids in California. It was part of a “cruel, calculated agenda to spread panic and division,” she railed.

“This Administration’s actions are not about public safety — they’re about stoking fear. Fear of a community demanding dignity and due process,” she wrote on social media at the time.

The previous month, Harris slammed Trump’s tariffs policy for “clearly inviting a recession.”
