This is going to be the question for the next who knows how long.

Not 'will Zelensky ever talk Trump into giving him the big guns'...nope.

Not 'will there ever be an agreement Hamas wasn't already planning to break when they agreed'...nope.

Not 'does anyone give a rip about anything the WNBA does or its players'...nope.

NOPE

The unanswerable question on everyone's minds is 'how long can new CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss continue to cruelly torture the news division staff at the network before they collapse from the sheer angst and unending mental abuse?'

That's THE question.

She was run out of the New York Times by screeching, triggered young staffers.

Oh, yeah. What honest, devoted progressive allows Tom Cotton any airtime in their bubble?

THAT MEAN JEW LADY IS A NAZI NAZI NAZI

It started up again when CBS announced they were hiring the renegade, rumored liberal. The folks who worked at the all-seeing eye were literally working themselves—and their friends—into a frenzy over the news before the woman got there to pick a desk.

...Inside CBS News, employees did the courageous thing: They started anonymously leaking their incensed reactions to left-wing outlets like the Guardian and Mehdi Hasan's Zeteo. Some encouraged Weiss not to "mess with the Golden Goose(s) of '60 Minutes' and 'CBS News Sunday Morning,'" the network's most prominent programs. As far as we understand it, that's, like, her new job. Outside the network, a trio of Times columnists voiced their displeasure. Progressive news site Salon went so far as to cite former CBS anchor Dan Rather—who was unceremoniously fired in 2006 after he humiliated the network when he broadcast a false report on 60 Minutes II about George W. Bush's military service records in an attempt to throw the 2004 election to John Kerry—as the type of heroic journalist who would oppose Weiss and her "political interference." No, seriously.

Others said Weiss’s hiring is “offensive” because—unlike the network’s existing staffers who “have dedicated their entire careers to understanding and developing the skills that are needed”—she “has zero experience in television.” (CBS is reportedly losing $50 million a year.)

Then the gorgon herself arrived.

What was the first thing Weiss, the new boss, did?

Send the entire news staff an email asking them to detail what it was they did and soliciting their opinions on what they felt was working and, more importantly, what wasn't.

The frickin' nerve, right?

...Weiss, who began serving as CBS News' new editor-in-chief last week after Paramount CEO David Ellison officially purchased her outlet, The Free Press, has made it clear she wants to hold "both American political parties to equal scrutiny." On Friday, she sent a note to CBS News staffers asking each member of the organization to detail what they do, and what they believe is working or not working, by Tuesday.

"I want to understand how you spend your working hours — and, ideally, what you’ve made (or are making) that you’re most proud of. I’m also interested in hearing your views on what’s working; what’s broken or substandard; and how we can be better. Please be blunt — it will help me greatly," Weiss wrote.

"I’ll read all of them carefully. And they will be held in the strictest of confidence. Then I’ll use your memo as a discussion guide for when I meet with most of you (ideally, all of you if time permits) in the coming few weeks," she continued. "The goal is simple: I want to familiarize myself with you — and I want you to do the same with me — to know that we are aligned on achieving a shared vision for CBS News."

DON'T YOU DARE ANSWER THAT FASCIST

The nerve of a boss sending around a 'let's get to know each other/make things better' memo! The mere thought upset CBS employees, which, in turn, upset the union that represents the news division employees, who told them not to answer until the Guild had thoroughly investigated WHY such an intimidating and threatening memo had been sent.

The Writers Guild union told the CBS News employees it represents to “refrain from responding” to new editor in chief Bari Weiss’s memo asking them to outline what they do all day long other than complain about their new boss.

...“Many of you have expressed concern to us about the purpose of the email, and we share those concerns.”

Ignore it.

A union that represents CBS News journalists told staffers they won’t be punished if they ignore a memo from their new boss Bari Weiss that has asked for details on their work duties, The Post has learned.

CBS “informed us that you will not be disciplined if you do not respond to the email, indicating that a response is optional,” Writers Guild of America East told employees in a message obtained by The Post.

I'm not sure if the Standards and Practices head at the division ignored answering, but she was gone before this past weekend, in any event.

Boom! One of the key people who set the rules for what could and could not be said at CBS News is GONE. Standards & Practices boss Claudia Milne left the building yesterday, and I say "good riddance."

The head of CBS News’ standards and practices unit — who presided over some of the network’s recent controversial, woke reporting — is out as new boss Bari Weiss looks to bring more balance to the left-leaning network.

Claudia Milne, who ran the division responsible for the moral, ethical and legal implications of CBS programming, is the first senior executive to leave the network since Weiss arrived as editor in chief earlier this month.

I guess when you're known as 'one of the woke mob' principles who got the network into the current mess where they now wallow, the clock was already ticking on your job, regardless.

It does make me wonder if some late answers to the memo arrived in Weiss's inbox after Ms Milne was summarily shown the exit or if everyone stayed curled in fetal balls, moaning.

If they did, her next move surely had to cause the anxiety factor to rise exponentially because, for all the dire warnings prior to her arrival about not 'touching the Golden Goose,' and the derisive sneers about 'we went from Rather to this,' Bari Weiss reportedly went there last Tuesday.

Word of her face-to-face meeting with the sacred cows of 60 Minutes is just leaking out, and it's delicious.

Bari Weiss, the new editor in chief of CBS News, surprised senior staff at the venerable news program “60 Minutes” during a meeting on Tuesday when she asked a provocative question:

Why does the country think you’re biased?

The inquiry was met with stunned awkwardness, according to three people who recounted details from the private session in Midtown Manhattan. The staff of “60 Minutes,” the nation’s most-watched news program, view their coverage as firmly nonpartisan and reject criticism from President Trump and his allies who argue that it has a liberal slant.

STUNNED SILENCE AT THE QUESTION

Can you imagine?

Well. With this insular group of pampered prima donnas, of course, you can.

WHY DOES THE COUNTRY THINK YOU'RE BIASED?

Honest but avowed liberals are aghast at the unflinching bias.

Worse for the preening pedants ensconced in the aging, snarling, sclerotic news magazine, Ms Weiss has ideas how to freshen things up.

I mean, she's pretending to ask 'whacha think' first

...Grynbaum and Mullin say there is optimism among some in the newsroom, along with the skepticism from others:

At her meeting with the staff of “60 Minutes,” Ms. Weiss asked about adding new contributors to the show’s on-air lineup, creating “60 Minutes”-branded live events and embracing digital platforms like YouTube, according to people familiar with her remarks.

“Some staff members are hopeful that Ms. Weiss will bring some needed energy and ideas to a news division that has struggled to adapt to the digital age,” they wrote. “Her interest in big interviews and bigger audiences has buoyed some CBS journalists, who think their network, which has cycled through five presidents in five years, needs a shake-up.”

I hope they gird their Depends well, as I would take those for directional indicators and adjust my attitude accordingly, if, you know, keeping my job meant more to me than kissing progressive ass and endless rounds of TDS indulgence. But that's just me.

Then again, I haven't spent a professional lifetime having peasants in the halls prostrate as I pass or being told I'm an omnipotent, priceless 'Golden' Goose.

I am well aware I am just the garden variety 'silly' type.

One can imagine being told 'no' is going to come as quite a shock to the aging systems contained in massive ego concretions within the skeletal remains of 60 Minutes.

Should it survive the Weiss invasion, I anticipate the faces might freshen up a little, too.

That would be kind of 'stunning.'

The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie about President Trump, his administration, and conservatives.

Ed, David, John, and I continue to work hard, exposing their left-wing bias by bringing you news you can trust. But we can't do it without your support.
