“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart on Monday called out President Donald Trump for throwing a tantrum in the middle of a “Meet The Press” interview at a Wisconsin farm after host Kristen Welker challenged his election conspiracy theories.

Or, as Stewart put it, Trump was “trapped in a barn with his worst nightmare: a woman who won’t stop asking pertinent questions.”

Instead of providing evidence to back up his claims, Trump attacked NBC as a “one-sided crooked network” and stormed off the set.

“Now, you could view this as the hissy fit of an incredibly fragile man-baby whose paper-thin skin can’t handle venturing out of the sycophantic embrace of his tongue-bathing acolytes,” Stewart said. “Or, actually, I don’t know how else you could view it. It really is just that. It’s sad. It’s very sad.”

Stewart noted that Welker had set the stage for Trump’s “hissy fit” by reminding him of his 2024 promise not to get involved in new wars ― yet started one in Iran anyway.

“She just lit the fuse on the bullshit bomb!” Stewart said. At that point, he started counting down as a cornered Trump ranted about farmers, China, the economy, the border wall, and, finally, his “rigged election” claims.

Stewart praised Welker for pushing back.

“Oh, sweet Jesus, finally, his universal get-out-of-interview card didn’t work,” Stewart said, pointing out that Trump’s election claims “have never survived even the slightest of legal scrutiny,” even from his own Justice Department in 2020.

Trump later claimed he was angry because of the rain outside the barn during the interview. Welker said she spoke with Trump, and “we both acknowledged the complications during the interview posed by the rain” and that the president agreed to return for another interview.

Now, it was Stewart’s turn to push back.

“Donald Trump didn’t storm out because of the rain,” he said. “He stormed out because he was challenged, not because he was distracted. So maybe it’s time we stop making excuses for that man in order to preserve access to his constant bullshit.”
